ACCOMMODATIONS
IN THE LUXURY OF CRETAN NATURE
WHERE TO STAY?
This page is put together in order to help you with a little orientation before your aromatic retreat journey on Crete, and in light of this, to organise our time together.
A wide range of accommodation options are available to meet individual preferences and budgets. Plenty of small family homes, larger apartments and villas can be booked via airbnb, bookings.com or your chosen travel agent. Your choice of accommodation may also depend on whether you will rent and drive a car while you are on Crete, or simply what you want to experience more!
Everything is rather small, human-scale and distances are relatively small – explore the map a bit! However, due to the specific nature of the Cretan landscape, the map may not give you a full picture of convenient access, so if you may want to check your accommodation choice with us before your final booking, you are welcome to do so.
While we have lands on the East part of the island as well, we are mainly based on West Crete, in the village of Armenoi, which is located in Chania prefecture. Most of the pre-selected accommodations gathered to support your preparations are located nearby us, and a few in the neighbouring villages.
Mind you, the main town in Chania prefecture is called Chania. Likewise, you would find villages with the same name – even Armenoi – and the indicator of the right location is the prefecture where it belongs to. The four main regions are Chania, Rethimno, Heraklion, and Lassithi.

Transfers and Local transportation
AIRPORT transfers
Private airport transfers from/to Chania International airport usually cost around 40 euro one way (to Armenoi) per person. You can check some options here at one of the local taxi providers.
While you are attending a retreat-journey with us in Crete, depending on our arrangements most likely you will travel with us during the day, including transportation from/to your accommodation nearby us.
LOCAL transportation
By car:
If it is your nature to do your own explorations either beyond our retreat days or some hours of the day outside our daily program, you may want to rent a car (perhaps with airport pickup already). Both the above taxi company and Flisvos car rentals have good offers. If you need help with your arrangements, please let us know.
If you choose to stay in Kritsa village, and not driving a car, here is a couple of more ideas for traveling between Agios Nikolaos and Kritsa: bus, taxi or (electric) bike.
By bus:
The local KTEL Chania bus service can be useful, and you might check out the timetables, but they don’t necessarily get you off at every corner. If you are a visitor and not driving yourself, these regional buses can be a nice way to visit other towns like Rethymno or Heraklion. There is a bus route coming from the city of Chania and has a stop at the national road, from where you have to take a 2-3 km walk to the village of Armenoi or Kalyves (seaside).
By bike:
Flisvos in Kalyves also has some selection of bicycles if you are into riding around!
